Wishing You A Super Fab National Veggie Week!

Sunday, May 18. 2008

Hey!

Can we be the first to wish you a super fab National Veggie Week!

Please do drop us  line if you are having an event or doing something for the special week - and even better if you can grab a camcorder and film it for other VeggieVision viewers too!

Its been a crazy week as we prepare for the coming Bristol Vegan Fayre - please do come and say hi if you are heading over - and please do come and help on our stall if you can! We have been in touch with some great veggie presenters so the cameras will be rolling at the fayre.

You may know that we are doing some of the PR for the event too and have got the lovely Tim Barford many radio interviews - and top of that Karin was asked to get involved with the wonderful Swedish Glace and their fab veggie survey - so Karin did 15 radio interviews promoting veggie stuff in one morning! How cool is that!! And yes we were told she was as up beat for the 15th as she was the first!

As well as working flat out on tons of VeggieVision stuff we constantly strive to promote veganism as much as we can and have enjoyed a lot of local and national media recently - we will add this to the new site asap.

Anyway we wish you a super National Veggie Week and lets get those veggie seeds planted!

LOL, as always from all the team xxxxxxxx

Help! I want to get the veggie message out there!

We have put together this easy to read report that aims to help you get started with ways of promoting vegetarianism and veganism in a fun and professional way. We hope that you enjoy and with National Veggie Week fast approaching take action too!

Media! How to reach 1000’s of people!

Starting off

Create your own local media contact list – full journalists & newspapers names, addresses, phone no’s, fax no’s , if poss e mail. – This can be made from buying local papers, looking in Yellow Pages, ask family & friends – they may know about a  newsletter – ect that you don’t. Check out www.mediauk.com

Journalists want an interesting story –something great for their readers. Don’t think that they are against you. It’s not a them & us. Local media are less likely to be aggressive/ controversial than national media – however be aware of over friendly journalists – always know that they are a journalist – not a friend who wants to sit and chat! The interview isn't over until the phone is put down or you have left the building!!

Remember you are helping them by providing an interesting story or idea.

Be polite, friendly, happy, confident – SMILE! Even when on the phone! :-O:-O) :-O

You are all vegans to them – maybe the first or only vegan they have met –

BE A GREAT ADVERT FOR VEGANISM – Go against the stereo typical image of a vegan.

Aim that they remember you – for good reasons! They will come back to you when they need a quote or information.

Get to know the journalists, find out if any are veggie or ‘sympathetic’ – they will usually tell you.

Part 2 coming soon - and more too!

Veggie wishes Karin x
